‘Gonna shoot her’: Luigi Mangione fan says she would kill her pharmacist mother if she became a healthcare executive

A woman defends Luigi Mangione and sparked outrage by claiming she would kill her mother if she became a health care executive like the slain UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson.Lena Weissbrot, 32, made the comments on Instagram after reports emerged that her mother, Reina Natero, is a CVS Health executive who oversees prescription drug coverage rules. After the information became public, Weisbrot first tried to downplay her mother’s stance.“She’s a worker,” she wrote in a screenshot of a text message and later shared her story on Instagram, the New York Post reported. She then made shocking comments that escalated the controversy.“If my mom were a health insurance executive, I would shoot her myself,” Weisbrot wrote. She went on to imagine a hypothetical scenario where, after this behavior, she inherited money from her mother.“If she were a health insurance executive like Brain [sic] Thompson, I would be the same person I am now if I knew what I was doing now (unlikely since coming from and [sic] A super rich family would have made me a completely different person) and I was still in the will thinking I could get away with it and I would inherit the money and redistribute it to all the families she destroyed with her murderous company,” she wrote.“But this is so far from my reality, it’s just a fantasy. This fantasy makes me…wet,” she added. In another Instagram Story post, Weissbrot wrote: “Debate: If my mom were a health insurance CEO, would I really edit her?”She added: “When debating with me a hypothetical situation that doesn’t exist: it doesn’t exist.”Weisbrot is known online as one of several self-described “Mangionistas,” a group of supporters and independent bloggers who attended Luigi Mangione’s court hearings using New York City-issued press credentials.Mangione is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, whose death sparked debate online about the U.S. health care system. Some believe his death was justified, while others say Mangione was just another cold-blooded killer.Outside a recent court hearing, Weisbrot said Thompson’s children “would be better off without him,” prompting further backlash.“They need to learn not to be like their fathers – and enjoy their hard-earned money,” she added.
