First photo released of man crashing car into Jewish kindergarten in Michigan

The Michigan gunman who attempted to murder young children at a Jewish preschool was Ayman Ghazali, an American citizen from Lebanon whose two brothers were considered Hezbollah terrorists.Ansari rammed his car filled with mortars into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Thursday, but officials said security guards shot him to stop him from carrying out further massacres, the New York Post reported.A 2019 photo obtained by The Washington Post shows Ansari with a blank stare, his hair cut short and his face clean-shaven. A second photo confirmed by The Washington Post shows him sporting a full beard.A local official in Mashgara told The Associated Press on Friday that two of his brothers and a niece and nephew were killed in an airstrike at their home in Lebanon before the attack. Law enforcement sources told The Washington Post that the brothers are believed to be members of the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.Local officials told The Associated Press that the relatives were killed shortly after sunset as they broke their fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.Ghazali, a Dearborn Heights resident, is believed to have first entered the United States in 2011 and received citizenship in 2016, sources said.In 2019, he was questioned by authorities in Atlanta after returning from an overseas trip in which he was believed to have traveled to Lebanon, sources said. Sources said he claimed during questioning that he had traveled abroad for a hair transplant.Sources said he also had contact information for known Hezbollah members on his phone. The FBI is following up on the situation, but it’s unclear what the outcome will be, sources said.
