Laura Loomer and Candace Owens turned their online rivalry into one of the most high-profile conservative media feuds of the week. The latest conflict erupted after Loomer resurfaced an old newspaper clipping that appeared to show Owens facing harassment-related charges as a teenager. The post quickly went viral, bringing years of accusations back into public view and reigniting debates around privacy, online attacks and political influencer culture. The controversy has become all the more dramatic because Owens herself claimed that she was targeted in what she said was a coordinated campaign of sexual harassment after leaving the Daily Telegraph. Loomer responded aggressively, accusing Owens of hypocrisy and insisting the commentator was trying to paint herself as a victim despite her own past controversy. The public fallout has now snowballed into a wider cyber war involving accusations of stalking, doxxing and legal threats.
Loomer shared a newspaper archive on X that allegedly referenced a 2007 incident involving Owens. Loomer wrote in the post, “Clendais Owens knew a lot about harassment while pretending to be the victim. This is how she has conducted herself her entire life. Did you know she was once arrested for harassment? Here is a newspaper archive from a Connecticut newspaper where she was arrested.”The archived report describes Owens as “the victim of an alleged hate crime in which the mayor’s son was a suspect,” while also saying she was later arrested after “sending threatening messages from Facebook.”The article states, “Stamford Police Officer Joseph Kennedy said Owens allegedly sent a digital message to another person’s account threatening physical harm.”CTPost and News-Times reported that Owens was facing charges of second-degree harassment and second-degree menacing at the time. However, public court records appear to show no convictions related to the case.
What started as a disagreement over alleged doxxing quickly escalated into personal attacks and legal charges involving family members. Owens accused Loomer of targeting her private information and claimed someone tried to impersonate her when opening a State Farm account.Loomer denied wrongdoing and launched a tirade against X. “Candace, you are a pathological liar. Your car information is publicly available online through your trust and your husband’s own arrest record. The VIN can be publicly traced to every other vehicle you own,” she wrote. She later added, “You are a malicious liar and you will be held accountable in court.”The feud continues to escalate on social media, with the two women hurling accusations at each other on a daily basis. As screenshots, old reports and personal claims continue to circulate online, the battle has become another example of how a clash of political influencers can quickly dominate digital conversations and blur the lines between public debate and personal warfare.
