Tamil Nadu: TVK breaks majority as VCK, IUML extend support
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) breached majority in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after VCK and IUML backed the Vijay-led party to form the government. VCK chairman Thol Thirumavalavan formally submitted a letter of support, taking TVK’s support to 119, after which IUML’s support pushed it to 120 MLAs. India announced the successful test flight of the Advanced Agni missile equipped with Multiple Warhead Independent Target Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, significantly improving India’s strategic strike capabilities.
