‘Eight-pointed star’ appears in UFO files, Pentagon previews ‘cooler information’ to come

A new video released by the Pentagon appears to show a strange “eight-pointed star” moving across the sky, sparking concern about UFOs.The infrared footage was released on Friday in government documents related to UFOs ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump. The video was recorded by U.S. Central Command personnel in 2013 using “infrared sensors on U.S. military platforms,” according to the documents. The video lasts for nearly two minutes and shows a glowing object shaped like a star floating and streaking through the sky. Officials have not determined what the object is.“This video depicts a contrasting area resembling an eight-pointed star, with its arms alternating in length,” the video’s description says. The Pentagon also included a disclaimer, saying the description was intended to provide context only and should not be taken as evidence of anything unexplained.“Readers should not interpret any part of this description as reflecting analytical judgment, findings, or factual determinations,” the note adds. The videos are part of 162 files released by the Pentagon’s new website dedicated to UFOs and unidentified flying incidents. The disclosures include videos, images and eyewitness accounts related to unidentified aerial phenomena, commonly known as UAPs.The material released includes photos from the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 lunar landing missions in 1969 and 1972. The images appear to show unexplained objects above the moon’s surface, but they are not clear evidence of alien life.An administration official told the New York Post that “cooler information” will be released in future rounds of disclosures. The release of the documents follows Trump’s February order requiring agencies to increase transparency about “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”“While past administrations have sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing the public with maximum transparency so they can ultimately make their own decisions about the information contained in these documents,” the Pentagon said in a statement.Trump also commented on the release on Friday, saying the public should be allowed to draw its own conclusions from the newly released records.“In the interest of complete and maximum transparency, I am honored to direct my administration to identify and provide government documents related to aliens and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena and UFOs,” Trump said. The president added: “While previous administrations have failed to be transparent on this issue, with these new documents and videos, people can decide for themselves, ‘What the hell is going on?’ Have fun and enjoy!”
