Iran on Sunday hit back hard at U.S. President Donald Trump’s expletive-laden “Tuesday threats,” saying his “reckless actions” were dragging Washington toward “hell on earth.”The strong reaction comes as Tehran accuses Trump of exacerbating tensions and pushing the region toward dangerous instability as conflict in West Asia continues to intensify. In a post on the X website, Tehran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused Trump of recklessly escalating the situation and claimed that Washington’s actions were driven by Israeli interests, particularly those of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.“Your reckless actions are dragging America into a living hell for every family, and our entire region will be burned because you insist on following Netanyahu’s orders. Make no mistake: you gain nothing by committing war crimes. The only real solution is to respect the rights of the Iranian people and end this dangerous game,” he wrote.
Ghalibaf’s statement came after Trump issued a strong warning to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important global oil shipping route, and threatened severe military action if Tehran failed to comply.“Tuesday will be Iran’s Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all in Iran. It won’t get any better than this!!! Open the damn straits, you crazy bastard, or you’ll be living in hell – look! Praise be to Allah,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.Earlier, Trump also issued a 48-hour ultimatum, saying: “Remember I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out – in 48 hours, hell will befall them.” Glory to God! President Donald J. Trump. “
Iran resolutely rejected Trump’s warning, and senior military officials responded forcefully. General Ali Abdullahi Aliabadi of Iran’s Hatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters described the US president’s remarks as “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid behavior”.Echoing Trump’s threatening tone, he added: “The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will be opened for you,” AFP reported. The exchange came amid heightened tensions after reports that a U.S. F-15 fighter jet was shot down by an Iranian air defense system earlier this week, triggering a high-risk rescue operation by the U.S. military. In another post, Trump claimed that the U.S. military had successfully rescued an injured sailor from deep inside Iran, calling it a rare and dangerous mission. The latest exchange comes amid escalating tensions in West Asia, with the United States, Israel and Iran involved in a conflict that began on February 28.
