‘Don’t think PCB chairman has been given full freedom’: Mohsin Naqvi criticized amid Pakistan cricket tensions Cricket News

New Delhi: Former India batsman Manoj Tiwari Questions Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi’s leadership, says lack of clarity and freedom could create tension between both sides PakistanCaptain and coach. His comments came after a viral video showed Pakistan captain Salman Agha throwing a bottle in frustration while sitting next to head coach Mike Hesson.

Tiwari feels that strong leadership is needed for any team to move forward and said the current set-up may not give enough independence to the coaching staff. “If any country wants to move forward, then leaders should be firm in their decision-making. It should be clear and given freedom. I don’t think the PCB person in charge was given enough freedom. Mike Hesson is the current head coach and he is trying to take the team forward,” he told Cricbuzz. He also believes the bottle-throwing incident reflects deeper issues in the locker room. “In the last game we saw some frustration in the relationship between Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha. Babar Azam Not being sent out. Aga threw the bottle out. This just proves that trust does not exist,” Tiwari added. However, Hutson denied any talk of a feud and gave a different explanation for the incident. He said Agha was just upset after coming off the field, not angry at the coach. “I’ve actually received that video and you guys are really mistaken. I’ll tell you what exactly happened. I was going to talk to Salman about putting (Mohammed) Nawaz on the pads as a southpaw and Aga was upset that he had just come off so he threw the bottle on the ground,” Hesson explained. He further clarified that the batting plan was discussed and not an argument. “(It) has nothing to do with the conversation we’re having…so it’s a very simple conversation…so it’s surprising what people can sometimes interpret,” he said.
