Photos and clips from medal honor The incident in early March 2026, widely shared on social platforms, showed irregular skin marks on the side of Trump’s neck.
The skin behind his right ear appeared to be crusted and peeling as he faced the camera and walked through the line of honorees. Photos of Trump in his makeshift situation room at Mar-a-Lago and during an attack on Iran during last week’s State of the Union address also showed discoloration in the same area of his neck.
CNN White House producer Adam Cancyrn shared on X that the cause of Trump’s neck rash was “preventative skin treatment.”
Cancyrn shared a statement from Trump’s doctor, who said, “President Trump used a very common ointment on the right side of his neck as a preventive skin treatment. The president is using the treatment for a week and expects the redness and swelling to continue for a few weeks.”
