Donald Trump’s health concerns spark frenzy on social media, White House blames ‘crazy liberals’ for death rumors

Claims and rumors about US President Donald Trump’s health once again sent social media into a frenzy over the weekend. “Trump is dead” rose to trending topic status on Sunday after a series of posts on the X platform claimed the US president had been hospitalized. But the White House later said these were “crazy conspiracy theories” concocted by “crazy liberals.”

Speculation increased after the White House announced a “press blackout” and said there would be no public appearances. (AP file)

Chattering on X during “press the lid”

“There are some reports, some speculation and unconfirmed information that Trump has been taken Walter Reed Hospital. The White House has announced that the President will not appear in public today,” read a viral post from an account on X, a user who describes himself as an “American scientist, medical expert, health economist.”

After this incident, outside speculation intensified White House Declared a “press cover” and said he would not appear in public. While the incident was apparently due to the ongoing search and rescue operation for a missing American pilot in Iran (who was eventually rescued), many netizens were quick to assume it was because of the dramatic change in the president’s health.

The news sparked a wave of unconfirmed reports due to the unusual nature of the post, as Trump is known to be golfing at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida over the weekend.

White House says Trump ‘never stops working’

The White House’s official communications account, “Rapid Responses 47,” responded to the speculation.

The statement read: “When @POTUS doesn’t talk to the media for 12 hours, crazy liberals concoct crazy conspiracy theories. (When Biden often doesn’t talk to the media for 12 days, they say nothing.) Don’t be afraid! President Trump never actually stops working.”

While speculation continued, Trump posted on “Truth Society” about the success of the U.S. military rescue operation in Iran.

This isn’t the first time rumors about Trump’s health have spread widely. Earlier this year, a Bruise found on US President’s handtriggering speculation about the 79-year-old leader’s health.

Trump blamed the bruises on aspirin and blood thinners. “My health is excellent,” Trump said in response to a reporter’s question.

Last year, it was also noted that the US president’s legs were “swollen,” sparking more speculation. In response to these rumors, the White House stated that Trump had been diagnosed with “chronic venous insufficiency.”

According to White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt, the discoloration on Trump’s right hand is widely known to be caused by “tissue irritation from frequent handshakes” and the use of aspirin as part of “standard cardiovascular prevention protocols.”
