“I didn’t see anything,” Trump added. “I didn’t know anything about it. That was terrible, but I didn’t know anything about it.”

Christie was fired from his duties at the Department of Homeland Security on March 5 after two congressional hearings. During one of the disastrous hearings, she fumbled a question about whether she had been having an affair with a married senior aide Corey Lewandowski.

Christie addressed the scandalous photos of her husband in a statement to the New York Post, saying she was “devastated.” “The family was blindsided by this and they are asking for privacy and prayers at the time,” she said.

National security experts told MailOnline the existence of such scandalous photos could expose his wife to potential blackmail threats.

“Damaging information like this could become a tantalizing lead for hostile intelligence services,” said Mark Polymeropoulos, a former CIA official. “They approach this person and say, if you cooperate with us, we won’t reveal this, and if you don’t, we will. That’s espionage 101.”
