Dolly Martinez, best known for her role on TLC’s My 600 lbs. Her family confirmed in a statement that she had died at the age of 30 Facebook post.
Martinez’s sister, Lindsay Cooper, shared the news in a heartfelt message, calling her a “bright personality” who brought joy to those around her.
She wrote: “Dolly had the brightest personality and could light up any room with her laughter, her kindness and her love. She had a way of making everyone feel special and her warmth will always be with us.”
On April 10, her family revealed via a Facebook post that she had been hospitalized and was “fighting for her life.”
Cooper wrote: “Today is National Brothers and Sisters Day and it is certainly a difficult day. I haven’t posted anything or let many people know, but my sister Dolly is in the hospital fighting for her life. I am asking for your prayers and privacy at this time as we go through this difficult time as a family.”
Dexerto reports that Martinez’s story about “My 600 lbs.” Life has highlighted serious health challenges including reduced mobility and reliance on oxygen support due to obesityrelated complications.
One of her episodes on the show chronicled her struggles with food addiction, mental health issues, and unstable personal circumstances, making her journey one of the more emotionally complex narratives in the series.
Dolly had already suffered a bout of congestive heart failure due to her weight. After appearing on the show, she detailed the challenges in her life on her Instagram account.
However, her family has yet to provide any medical confirmation of the cause of death.

Martinez, who appeared on Season 10 of the TLC series, started her journey weighing around 593 pounds. She moved to Houston to seek care from bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan in hopes of qualifying for bariatric surgery.
Despite losing about 40 pounds, she was ultimately not approved for surgery because she was unable to meet the program’s rigorous requirements.
In addition to needing extra oxygen, she also suffered from mental health issues.
