Denver Airport Tragedy: Pedestrian killed by Frontier Airlines plane, ‘We just hit someone’

Air traffic controllers said they were “moving trucks now,” then the pilot said “there’s smoke on the plane. We’re going to evacuate on the runway.”

Twelve people were reported to have suffered minor injuries, five of whom were transferred to nearby hospitals. Currently, the investigation into this matter is ongoing.

The airport said: “Runway 17L remains closed pending investigation and is expected to open in the coming hours. We are deeply saddened by this incident and extend our sympathies to those involved.”

“The Airbus A321 was carrying 224 passengers and seven crew members,” the airline said. “We are investigating the incident and coordinating with the airport and other security authorities to gather additional information.”
