Previously, the UAE Ministry of Defense also stated that its air defense system was “responding to missile and drone threats from Iran.” The Defense Ministry said the loud sounds heard in parts of the country were caused by interceptions by air defense systems.A day earlier, Iran warned that “ports, terminals and U.S. hideouts” in the United Arab Emirates could be targeted and urged residents to evacuate the areas.Tehran defended the attack, claiming the United States used Emirati ports, terminals and hideouts to carry out the attack on Al-Kharg Island, home to a major terminal handling Iranian oil exports. According to Agence France-Presse, Iran launched more than 1,800 missiles and drones at the UAE during the conflict, making it the country most seriously targeted by Tehran in the escalation of the conflict. The attacks have raised concerns about security across the Gulf region, which for decades has been seen as relatively stable in the volatile Middle East. The US-Israel-Iraq war started on February 28, and many Middle Eastern countries were directly hit. The United States and Israel attacked Iran and killed its top leader. In recent days, Lebanon has witnessed Israeli attacks on Hezbollah areas, Qatar reported explosions near US infrastructure in Doha and Saudi Arabia’s largest oil refinery was set on fire by a drone.
