Singer D4vd, whose real name is Anthony David Burke, was born in Los Angeles Thursday (April 16) in connection with the death of 16-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. As of now, the 21-year-old singer has not been charged with anything.
However, soon after he became involved in the Los Angeles grand jury investigation, he assembled a strong team of lawyers to defend him. Among them is high-profile Hollywood celebrity lawyer Blair Berk, who has represented stars including Harvey Weinstein, Kanye West, Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears. Berk is leading the defense and will be joined by Marilyn Bednarski, who has extensive jury experience.
However, there are concerns that experience gaps in Blair Berk’s legal career could work against D4vd, despite Berk having previously represented a number of celebrities.
D4v is expected to be produced Monday in District Attorney Nathan Hochman’s office. He is currently serving time in prison.
Although Blair Burke has represented numerous celebrities in high-profile cases, he has little experience defending murder suspects, the New York Post reports. The outlet noted that the only notable murder case Burke defended was that of Monica Sementilli.
Sementilli is accused of conspiring with her porn star boyfriend to murder her hairdresser husband Fabio Sementilli in 2017. Monica Sementilli was convicted in April 2025 of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
