Looking ahead to the future and his upcoming endeavors, Davis said: “Right now I’m working tooth and nail to make a point: in the current state of music, as the health of the industry returns, we have to figure out not just where the next Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen comes from, but where the next Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston comes from,” he added. “It can’t happen in such a dominant way that it overshadows the great new voices.”
