However, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in an update that the scene is now safe and there is no public danger, and provided details about the cause or circumstances of the fight. The Sheriff’s Office noted that both men were injured and were being treated.

The arrest sparked controversy because the anchor was arrested days earlier on charges of theft of service after failing to pay his bill after dining at a Nashville restaurant.
