The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a fire weather warning for parts of northern Illinois, including the Chicago metropolitan area. A fire alert will be in effect on Wednesday, February 18.
Officials are warning citizens to be aware of outdoor burning activities, which can quickly develop catastrophic fires if a source of fire emerges due to a mix of warm air, strong winds and unusually dry conditions.
