Charles Spencer, brother princess dianamarried archaeologist and podcast co-host Cat Jarman in a private ceremony Arizona May 15th.
“We both feel incredibly lucky to have been able to move from a relationship as colleagues to friendship, deep love and connection,” the couple said in a joint statement to People. “Every stage of our relationship has been filled with laughter and we share a zest for life.”

The couple first met when Charles, the author of nine books, was asked to review Jarman’s 2021 best-selling non-fiction book River King, which focuses on her area of expertise about the Vikings.
From there, their relationship developed, leading them to conduct archaeological digs together and co-host a podcast before publicly acknowledging their relationship in October 2024.
For their intimate ceremony, the couple chose Arizona, and Sedona’s famous Cathedral Rock seemed to provide a picturesque backdrop for their wedding photos.
Jarman wore a light blue sleeveless gown with cutout detailing at the waist, while Spencer opted for a dark suit paired with an open-collared light blue shirt for the informal ceremony. In another photo, Jarman and Spencer took a smiling selfie together.
The marriage marked Spencer’s fourth marriage. the late princess’s younger siblings diana He was previously married to Victoria Lockwood from 1989 to 1997, Caroline Freud from 2001 to 2007, and Karen Spencer from 2011 until their divorce last year.
In June 2024, the author and historian revealed that he and Canadian philanthropist Karen parted ways after 13 years of marriage. The divorce was officially finalized in December 2025. The former couple have a daughter, 13-year-old Charlotte Diana.
Spencer is also the father of six other children from his previous marriage. Jarman was previously married and has two sons with her ex-husband, Tom Jarman.
Earl Charles Spencer, formerly known as Charles Edward Morris Spencer, was born on May 20, 1964, to John and Frances Spencer, Viscount and Viscountess Althorp. He had three sisters: Sarah, Jane and Diana, the latter known as Princess Diana. In addition, he had an older brother named John who unfortunately passed away shortly after his birth. His godmother is Queen Elizabeth II, the former mother-in-law of his sister Diana.
Charles spent much of his childhood in the residence his parents received as a wedding gift from his maternal grandparents. The residence, known as Park House, is located near one of the Queen’s estates.
According to the 2009 Sunday Times rankings, his net worth is estimated at $149 million.
