CBS Nightly News Medical Emergency: Why Tony Dokupil’s Segment Was Cut Short; First Update

Tony Dokoupil’s CBS Evening News show was interrupted Wednesday due to a medical emergency. The video went viral on social media.

This section first discusses how President Donald Trump visits China Might play out. However, Dokupil can then be heard saying “Is he okay?”, referring to someone off-camera. “We’re going to take a short break, we have a medical emergency here,” he added.

Background sounds can be heard. One person said “Please call the doctor” and the host added “We’re going to call the doctor”. It then added that they were signed on behalf of Dokupil, who reports from Taiwan. “We’re going to go out and rest, we’ll be back soon,” someone said.

This news caused many people to worry.

CBS Nightly News: Medical emergencies raise concerns

However, this was not the case and Dokupil only said that they were calling a doctor and that he was not experiencing a medical emergency.
