‘Law will rule Bengal again’: PM Modi announces six assurances, steps up attack on Mamata government

The Prime Minister accused the TMC government of allowing illegal activities in the area. Talking about the Asansol coal belt, he said: “Asansol is a major component of the coal belt, but under TMC rule, the entire industry was controlled by a syndicate, including the coal and sand mafia.”The prime minister said the election was not only about changing the government but also about restoring the region’s industrial strength. “This election is about getting rid of mafia rule and only a BJP government can do that,” he said.“After May 4, the ‘Nirmam Sarkar’ (insensitive government) will disappear. The BJP government will solve all the problems of the region,” the Prime Minister claimed. The Prime Minister further said that Hindus in Bengal are being intimidated in the name of a particular community. “There was a time when Hindus were threatened with genocide for posting red posters. Today, the TMC is doing the same; once again Hindus are being terrorized in the name of a particular community. The people of Bengal want their land to remain safe, their faith to remain safe, their livelihood to remain safe and the future of their children to remain safe. That is why April 23rd will be the moment to make decisions about the future. I assure you: the BJP has secured India’s western borders and the Bharatiya Janata Party will secure India’s eastern borders. “Highlighting development plans, he claimed that investment in the once prosperous industrial belt had declined and said only a “dual-engine government” could reverse the situation. The Prime Minister also said that the Center has allocated funds to revive industries in Asansol, adding that the BJP has contributed to the development of the region despite “obstacles” from the state government.Prime Minister Modi also expressed concern over the safety of women in the state. He said, “Bengal is the land of Shakti worship, but under the current ‘Nirmam Sarkar’ rule, the situation in Bengal has deteriorated.”Talking about the recent incidents, he said, “The incident at RG Kar and the horrific scenes at Sandeshkhali reflect this. The TMC has often been seen openly supporting the perpetrators,” he claimed.
