notes: CHNY is expected to make selections based on homeless records, but no details of the application process have been made public. The initial pilot program will accommodate 60 people.

Payments are expected to be automatically processed to qualified individuals, The American Sun reported. The official notice of the plan did not mention a timetable. However, individuals already enrolled in the program may be notified soon.
Notably, the payment was made in his capacity as mayor of New York City. Zoran Mamdani Government officials and homeless advocates are mounting pressure after a massive snowstorm and freezing temperatures killed at least 16 people. The deaths have heightened scrutiny of the city’s response to winter homelessness.
