“Dhoni. Has to be…I think in terms of his captaincy and aura,” Billings said. “He’s fantastic. In terms of being so unbelievably calm. And he’s really cool. You don’t meet cool people very often these days, really. He’s just a lovely guy, considering how much stardom he has and how much of a superstar he is. Obviously, he’s a Manchester United fan, like me.”He added, “So we would watch every Manchester United game. He couldn’t leave the hotel, he couldn’t go downstairs to the hotel bar and he would have a lot of lads. His room was open and he had a little ‘shisha man’ who looked after the shisha. His only job was to look after the shisha.”

‘That’s why I don’t see MS Dhoni’s role’: AB de Villiers

“I feel like his role over the last few years has been purely to keep the brand as strong as possible. That’s why I don’t think he’s going to be as effective as he was last season in eight or nine overs and not doing enough,” de Villiers was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.“We know his batting is impactful, but if he’s batting that low and not being captain, it feels like he’s almost just filling a spot for the wrong reasons. There’s still a place for him but he needs to bat higher, at least six and sometimes maybe five or four.”“I do feel that Ruturaj and Sanju are the perfect players to take over from MS (Dhoni). My only question is where does MS fit in, if he can’t make that big of an impact sometimes at 4, 5, 6 batting, then would rather be left out of the lineup,” De Villiers said, adding, “Let someone else come in and maybe bowl and bat and make a bigger impact in the game and then MS can almost sit on the sidelines as a mentor and still guide the team guys.”
