Pop icon Britney Spears was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving late Wednesday night in Moorpark, California.
The singer was pulled over by California Highway Patrol in Ventura County around 9:30 p.m., NBC Los Angeles reported.
After the traffic stop, Spears was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. She was later released from jail around 6 a.m. Thursday.
In 2021, Forbes estimated the pop star’s net worth at approximately $60 million. However, Spears later sold the rights to her music catalog to publishing company Primary Wave in a deal reported to be worth $200 million.
Forbes estimates that Spears earned about $170 million before taxes from the deal. Her take-home pay, after taxes, management commissions and legal fees, is believed to be about $70 million.
Taking into account her career earnings and catalog sales, Forbes currently estimates Britney Spears’ net worth to be approximately $150 million.
