A bomb threat scare aboard a Frontier Airlines flight from Atlanta prompted an emergency response after a passenger claimed to have a bomb. The “unruly passenger” threatened other passengers.
Live air traffic control audio footage captures the pilot’s emergency communication with air traffic control.
The incident involved Frontier flight F92539, operated by an Airbus A320, where the pilot could reportedly be heard alerting ATC that there might be a bomb on board and warning a passenger that he was threatening to kill others.
Authorities later confirmed that police were investigating the situation after the plane landed safely at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

A recorded conversation between the pilot and air traffic control of Frontier Flight 2539 triggered an alert about a potential threat on board.
This communication is standard protocol during aviation emergencies, and pilots must quickly notify air traffic control of any credible threat to ensure a coordinated response on the ground.
In the video, the pilot relayed that a passenger claimed to be carrying a bomb and made threats of violence. “A black male around five-nine was seated in seat 3,” the pilot reported to ATC, reporting a Level 3 threat.
He further relayed, “He was sitting in his seat. He started threatening to kill the woman sitting next to him and saying there was a bomb on his plane.”
The pilot described the “unruly passenger” as a man about 58-60 years old.
In response to ATC’s request for more information, the pilot said they were unable to provide any additional details about the passenger who posed a threat while the crew ran the checklist.

The aircraft was moved to a remote location away from the terminal due to a verbal bomb threat and law enforcement investigating.
According to a Frontier spokesperson, the “unruly passenger” made the bomb threat shortly after 5 p.m. as Columbus, Ohio-based flight 2539 had just landed and was taxiing to the gate.
Passengers were reportedly removed from the aircraft and transported to the terminal via buses. Ultimately, authorities concluded the passenger’s threats were unfounded.
Atlanta police said the incident was an “unruly passenger” incident. At this time, the threat is not being investigated as a hijacking incident.
Even if the threat proves to be a false alarm, the response adheres to established security procedures for allegations of approaching explosives on board an aircraft.
