BJP slams Congress for ‘endorsing’ US Commission on International Religious Freedom report

New Delhi: bjp Attack on Tuesday congress ‘Endorses’ US Commission on International Religious Freedom report recommending sanctions against RSS raw He also said that while opposing the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the opposition parties and Rahul Gandhi are also on the opposite side of India. The BJP dismissed the report as “baseless” and said it was based on unreliable sources, citing a response from the MEA, which rejected the report. Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said India’s external spy agency RAW should not be subject to comments or sanctions from any foreign committee. “While the government reacted strongly, the Congress opposed RAW and stood with the committee,” Patra added. He pointed out that official representatives of the opposition parties had endorsed the report and said it showed the extent to which the party could go against the state “at the behest of Rahul”.Patra said Asif Mohammad, a Pakistani-American who serves as vice chairman and commissioner of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, claimed his influence was behind the report’s criticism of India.“Whenever Rahul travels abroad, he associates with these people without leaving any opportunity to tarnish India’s image or harm the country’s reputation,” he claimed.
