Bill Ackman’s nephew with ‘Ronda’: US billionaire’s viral rant against employees who sued him for harassment

Billionaire Bill Ackman told a lengthy story about his family’s company, announcing that he would not settle a frivolous harassment case against his company.

Bill Ackman published a thousand-word post on X exposing scandals at his family company because he wanted X users to comment on it, while also making clear that he would not settle a lawsuit against his company by a former employee he fired who is now making harassment claims against Ackman’s nephew. The post, which reads almost like a novel, quickly went viral, with several prominent figures including Elon Musk, Chamath Palihapitiya, Donald Trump Jr., reacting to his story and supporting Ackman’s stance on the fight. Long story short: At the center of this lawsuit is his private family office, TABLE, which was established 15 years ago to handle his personal finances. While he was busy with other businesses, the company grew and expenses soared. Late last year, he brought his nephew, a Harvard graduate, to inspect the company. The nephew talks to the employees and recommends firing a third of the staff, including the president. The company’s in-house lawyer and one of its highest-paid employees (whom Ackman calls “Ronda” for the sake of clarity) asked for two years of severance and then sent a threatening letter from a Silicon Valley lawyer alleging unsafe workplaces, harassment and gender discrimination against his nephew. Ackerman said he discovered the comments were taken out of context after speaking with his nephew, Ronda herself, the head of workplace compliance. According to Ackman, Rhonda and her husband, who works at a well-known venture capital firm in Silicon Valley, calculated that they would receive huge sums of money from Ackman because Rhonda knew all the pressing situations Ackman was facing – his daughter’s cerebral hemorrhage on February 5, his upcoming IPO, etc. Ackerman said he would not seek solutions but fight to solve problems. “Agreed. This crap is too much,” Elon Musk replied. Donald Trump Jr. also said he agreed with Ackman’s decision and that this had to stop. Chamath Palihapitiya said he learned a hard lesson after earlier settling some frivolous claims. “I’ve dealt with a lot of this crap in the past. This is the “tax” I talked about on the Pod this week. It’s easier to pay for a while because the amounts each pay are relatively small (a few million dollars here or there), but then the system realizes I’m a flag and it won’t stop. as they try to chase dozens or hundreds of people. I finally got tired of this and distanced myself from a group of people who were suing me for their undeserved profits. They lost. I won. I will never settle down again. There is only fighting,” he wrote. Most social media users would love to read the story about how a billionaire threw his “niece and nephew” under the bus and exposed an employee who filed a lawsuit against him.
