Beast Games Lawsuit: Why MrBeast is suing a Canadian production company for $5 million – explained

MHQ is the Toronto-based production company that helped produce the first season of the hit Amazon show.

Under the agreement, MRB2024, MrBeast’s company allegedly paid $5 million to MHQ on May 23, 2024. A week later, MrBeast’s company allegedly decided to move production from Ontario to Atlanta, Georgia, without MHQ. But the company reportedly changed its mind the next week, believing the U.S. move would not succeed.

According to The Globe and Mail, when MrBeast’s team tried to work with MHQ again, the Toronto company refused. As a result, MrBeast’s team had to find another Canadian partner.

MHQ claims the short-lived cancellation of the project has severely damaged its reputation as a reliable and trustworthy producer. The company was forced to lay off recently hired employees, many of whom turned down other jobs for new ones.

According to Toronto Life , MHQ claims it laid the groundwork for the show’s production but received no credit or executive producer credit.

and, Lorraine MavrommatisA former social media manager and executive at Donaldson’s company Beast Productions is suing the company, accusing it of firing her after she went on maternity leave and made sexist comments. The company rejected all accusations.
