BCCI announces reward of Rs 131 crore to India after winning T20 World Cup 2026

With this victory, India also became the first team to win three World Cup titles, cementing their status among the most successful teams in the tournament.

In an official statement, BCCI congratulated the players, support staff and selectors for their achievement and wished them continued success. The board described the victory as “a powerful reflection of the depth of cricket in this country and the structures that nurture talent and sustain excellence at the highest level.”BCCI president Mithun Manhas hailed the achievement as a moment of immense pride for the country. “Being defending champion and accomplishing this feat in your hometown makes it even more special,” he said. He thanked former BCCI secretary Jay Shah for strengthening the structure and global standing of Indian cricket.Vice Chairman Rajeev Shukla, Joint Secretary Prabhtej Bhatia and Treasurer A Raghuram Bhat praised the team’s composure, unity and determination, noting that careful planning and solid foundation contributed to the victory.India scored 255 for 5, the highest total in a T20 World Cup final, before beating New Zealand by 159 in the 19th over. With this win, India now have 14 ICC trophies in the senior and under-19 categories, surpassing Australia’s 13 trophies, and become the most successful team in the history of the T20 World Cup.
