Nahid Rana played a match-defining role as Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test in Dhaka on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series after a dramatic collapse on the final day. Pakistan’s chase started cautiously after losing Imam-ul-Haq just before lunch, but Fazal’s counterattack briefly revived hopes. However, Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack ensured constant pressure and eventually forced the team to collapse, resulting in a five-wicket fall in the final over. The result marked Bangladesh’s third consecutive Test win over Pakistan and first at home, underscoring a new era of confidence in red-ball cricket.
