According to Primetimer, the manager said the rapper was seeking a green X-Pro model, especially when trying to achieve a certain look for the project. Other dealers have previously struck similar short-term loan deals that would have allowed for promotions and brought people to the stores, according to the report. The dealership’s TikTok caption said the request surprised their team because this was not a car-buying scenario.
Ed Voyles’ staff told the caller that the dealership did not have a policy of loaning vehicles out in this manner. Telluride is reportedly in high demand right now. The rapper is advised to simply buy or lease the car.
Motor1 has seen the video and reports that the employee said the dealer was willing to discuss an arrangement given the potential for promotions. However, the staff member reportedly made it clear that lending vehicles to civilians was not something they did regularly and that he had to ask if it could be done anyway.
Other compensatory deals offered by managers include meeting at the trading shop or mailing a package to both parties as a way to make the deal beneficial to both parties.
Some viewers said the call was fake. There are additional questions about the credibility of this scenario, as some commentators expressed confusion as to why a famous rapper would want to feature a Kia SUV in a music video.
The dealer and caller have not publicly identified the rapper as the call remains a topic of discussion.
