ASI’s Bhojshala report to be heard in HC tomorrow

Indore: The Madhya Pradesh High Court will on Monday hear the objections and recommendations of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on its inquiry report into the controversial Bhojshala-Kamal Mullah Masjid complex, which concluded that the mosque was built using parts of an ancient temple. The ASI report, which spans 10 volumes and more than 2,000 pages, “Based on scientific investigations, surveys and archaeological excavations, study and analysis of the discovered finds, and examination of architectural remains, sculptures, inscriptions and artworks, it can be stated that the existing structure was built from a portion of the earlier temple.” The petition was being heard by the Indore bench of the Supreme Court on the directions of the Supreme Court.
