Apache helicopter flies near Kid Rock’s home, US military investigates

The U.S. Army launched an investigation after a military helicopter was spotted unusually close to musician Kid Rock’s home in Tennessee. The incident involved at least two AH-64 Apache helicopters from the Army’s 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, which were on a training mission when they swerved near the singer’s home in White Creek, outside Nashville. Video posted online showed the plane circling near the residence while Kidd Rock, whose real name is Robert Rich, appeared to pay tribute to the crew. The overflight was not authorized and was not part of any planned outreach or combat activities, according to Army officials. “Army pilots are required to adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism and established flight rules,” a spokesman said, confirming an administrative review was underway to determine whether any rules had been breached.Flight tracking data cited by the U.S. report showed a helicopter orbiting the property multiple times over several minutes. The aircraft also flew at a relatively low altitude, raising further concerns about safety and compliance with aviation protocols. The same helicopters were also seen flying near public rallies related to the “No King” protests in the region. Officials said the staff was not assigned any role related to the demonstrations and called the overlap purely coincidental. The incident prompted criticism from some quarters, with some questioning the potential misuse of military resources and the appropriateness of conducting such exercises near private property. Others noted that military aviation has become more sensitive after a fatal mid-air collision between an Army helicopter and a commercial aircraft in 2025.Kid Rock is a long-time supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump. He shared footage of the flyby on social media, amplifying the moment and adding a political dimension to the incident. However, officials said there was no evidence the musician requested the helicopter or that the incident was coordinated with him.
