The mother of Sgt. Roey Weiser, a 21-year-old Israeli-American soldier who was killed by Hamas terrorists during the war. October 7 attack IsraelShe criticized the United Nations’ treatment of her after speaking at the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday, March 24. Council Vice-President Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew Daka was dissatisfied with Naomi Feaver-Weiser’s remarks.
Speaking via video, Naomi called on the council to provide “cover” to the terrorists who killed her son. She also slammed the alleged antisemitism This is characteristic of the Council’s attitude towards Israel.
“My name is Naomi Weiser, the mother of Roy Weiser,” Naomi said in her speech, according to Israel National News. “Roy was full of life, full of dreams, and had an infectious smile. He will always be our son and brother, Shani and Nadav. Roy was murdered then and now by Palestinian terrorists bent on genocide against the Jewish people.”
Naomi spoke about her son, sharing how the young man facilitated humanitarian crossings between Gaza and Israel.
“On October 7, Roy was on duty at the Erez crossing between Israel and Gaza. He was there to protect his people and guard the crossing where Gazans enter Israel for business, work and to receive medical care from Israelis. From January to September 2023, 437,000 People enter Israel from Gaza. This is Israel’s humanitarianism, even though Gaza launches rockets, tunnels and cars to destroy Israel. Palestinian mass murderers don’t care about the well-being of their people, nor the well-being of our people,” she said.

Naomi added: “My son was amazing. He was brave. They murdered him because they hated Jews. Yet the UN Human Rights Council gave them cover. You defended genocidal terrorists. Roy defended the Jewish people. You spread lies and anti-Semitism. Roy fought for the truth of a just Jewish state. Your hatred will not defeat our love for Roy and Israel.”
After Naomi spoke, Dhaka accused her of using language that was inconsistent with the “dignity” of the proceedings.
“Before I turn to the next speaker, I would like to call on everyone to adhere to language commensurate with inherent dignity when discussing human rights issues,” he said.

“While Daka has no problem listening to all kinds of lies and slander against Israel, the only time he has a problem is when I call on the committee to provide cover and support to terrorists,” she said.

“Don’t Jews have human rights?” Naomi added. “Should terrorists and their supporters be able to murder, rape, torture and kidnap Jews with impunity? Sadly, the United Nations Human Rights Council is a shameful sham. Instead of defending universal human rights, it has become a forum for defaming Jews who dare to defend themselves against genocidal terrorists.”
“Of all the corrupt UN organizations, the Human Rights Council is the most despicable and useless,” she concluded.
Naomi previously revealed in an interview with the Hindustan Times website that her son was stationed at the Erez border when he died. During the invasion, terrorists entered his base and attacked Israeli soldiers from the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He sacrificed his life to save his comrades.
Naomi quotes Roy as telling other soldiers, “I’m no longer your sergeant, and whoever wants to come with me can come with me.”
Roy, along with several others, engaged the terrorists from behind in an attempt to stop the attack.
“Unfortunately, he was killed in the attack,” Naomi said. “Thanks to his heroism, approximately 12 soldiers are alive today. Their base was the only one Hamas did not capture during Saturday’s attack as a result of his actions.”
