Almond Fire: Cabazon vegetation fire prompts evacuation order; view map, scary visuals in Riverside County

A vegetation fire known as the “Almond Fire” breaks out in Cabazon california Tuesday, prompting an evacuation order. “Evacuation warnings have been issued for the following areas: RVC-0541-C and RVC-0655.”

Evacuation maps have been shared on Watch Duty. Areas marked in yellow have Level 2 warnings or “sets” and they must prepare to evacuate. Red areas indicate level 3 or “go,” meaning people must leave immediately.

An evacuation order has been issued for area RVC-0541-B. A warning has also been issued for the MRF-0657-A area. Evacuation orders remain in effect for areas north of Bonita Avenue, west of Elm Street, east of Almond Street and south of Almond Street, according to local reports.

Meanwhile, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire issued a statement, “Almond Street/Bonita Avenue, Cabazon. First arriving company officials reported an RV fire that had spread to vegetation. The fire is currently burning 2-3 acres. Additional resources are responding.”

Some videos of the Cabazon fire have been shared online. “Almond/Bonita units are responding to a commercial vehicle fire reported at 1:59 p.m. The first unit on scene advises an RV on fire with extension into vegetation. Each radio traffic may cover 20 acres. The incident has been named Bonita IC, later changed to the Almond Fire,” one page noted, sharing a video in which smoke could be seen in the distance.

Another shared a clip from a different angle and wrote “2 train Emergency crews were delayed for less than an hour. “

A report added that the fire started under dry conditions. Meanwhile, more people shared videos of the fire.

“Morongo Casino is on fire,” one person commented on X.

The same person was driving down the road, saw the fire and posted about the Almond Fire.

Initially, five additional engines were required. Then a request came in for two manual workers. However, this plan was scrapped and replaced with bulldozers.
