New Delhi: An Air India Express plane suffered a nose wheel issue while landing at Phuket International Airport in Thailand on Wednesday, the airline confirmed to news agency PTI.A video circulating online showed the plane making a rough landing on the runway, appearing to land suddenly and briefly bouncing before stabilizing.Sources said authorities temporarily halted flight operations at the airport after the plane got stuck on the runway. It is unclear how many passengers were on board the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
“We confirm that our Hyderabad to Phuket flight experienced a nose wheel issue at Phuket Airport on March 11,” Air India Express said in a statement.The nose wheel is a key component of the aircraft landing gear system.According to Flightradar24, flight IX 938 took off from Hyderabad at 6:42 am, slightly later than its scheduled departure time of 6:20 am, and arrived in Phuket at 11:40 am local time.“The crew followed all standard protocols and the passengers deplaned,” the airline added in a statement.
