Social media comedian Dejontay Wings finds himself at center of criminal investigation Louisiana back Baton Rouge Police arrested him on suspicion of burglary at a business where he previously worked.
The 27-year-old man was arrested Saturday and charged with simple burglary and criminal damage to property for breaking into a Take 5 oil change location on Airline Highway, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

1. Dejontay Wings has a huge following as a social media comedian/influencer. Prior to his arrest, Wings had established a name for himself on Instagram under the handle wingstoofunny.
Wings has amassed about 296,000 followers on Instagram through comedy sketches. That massive audience helped him become a well-known figure in Baton Rouge’s local social media scene.
2. Wings worked at the company he allegedly stole from. The theft occurred at the Take 5 oil change facility on Air Highway in Baton Rouge. Investigators said Wings was employed at a Take 5 oil change location.
The business manager told investigators that Wings had been terminated about two weeks before the alleged break-in, according to a Baton Rouge police arrest warrant. Authorities said his previous job made him familiar with the property and its layout.
3. Wings allegedly stole late at night. Police documents show the break-in occurred on December 2, 2025, around 10:50 p.m.
According to the arrest warrant, the suspect allegedly broke a window in the garage area before entering the store. Investigators said the person then walked through the office area, found a safe and took approximately $200 in cash.

4. Wings was caught because the manager recognized him by the way he walked. One of the most unusual aspects of the case is how investigators identified the suspect.
Police said a security camera malfunction prevented clear facial footage from being captured during the incident. However, the business manager reportedly told investigators that he recognized the man by his unique way of walking.
Identification became a key element of the investigation that ultimately led to an arrest.
5. Wings faces two criminal charges. Wines was arrested Saturday and booked with simple burglary and criminal damage to property, according to Baton Rouge police.
