U.S. citizens will receive $1,000 as part of the second round of statewide stimulus packages. This applies to the following states Alaskaand the check falls under the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) scheme.

Here the checks were paid out of the nation’s abundant surplus. Minerals. Payment is made in three annual installments.

“Our mission is to administer the Permanent Fund Dividend Program to ensure that all eligible Alaskans receive dividends in a timely manner, fraud is prosecuted, and all internal and external stakeholders are treated with respect,” Department Director Genevieve Wojtusik said of the stimulus checks, according to The Sun.

It is worth noting that Alaska is known for its oil and gas reserve. Each year, loyal citizens receive a portion of the remaining funds from the treasury.

$1,000 ‘permanent’ stimulus checks: Eligibility criteria

In order to qualify for a PFD, a person must have plans to remain in the state permanently. In this case, the applicant cannot claim residence in any other state or country during the past two years.

Additionally, applicants are ineligible if they are incarcerated at any time during this eligibility period.

If someone is eligible but still hasn’t received a check, don’t worry. This overhaul should be coming soon. According to reports, people whose PFD application status was “eligible but unpaid” on February 11 will be paid on the 19th.

The first round of payments will be issued on January 15, 2026 for individuals with the above status as of January 7 of the same year.

The final round of payments will be made on March 19 to those with the same status on March 11. Application status can be checked on the myPFD portal, and paper applications can be found at local distribution centers.

It is worth noting that due to Alaska’s reduced mining surplus this time, the payment amount decreased from last year’s $1,702. The PFD application window will open again this year and payments will be issued in 2027. However, it’s unclear how much Alaskans will receive in the next tranche.
